Our History
Tim Kolb and Ken Motsenbocker, both coming from their own local bands, are collaborating to bring a unique blend of fingerpicking and vocals. They are joined by Tim’s daughter Laura. Ken and Tim go way back to Penfield High School days where they used to hang out in Ken’s barn with friends after bruising punishment on the football fields. Their repertoire includes Tim’s original songs, contemporary Americana, traditional folk rock, the Beatles, Dead, Wilco, Radiohead, Dylan,and Trampled by Turtles to name a few. A nice variety of styles and good tunes
Ken Motsenbocker, on the Banjo
Ken plays his Banjo, three finger style. He was turned on to the banjo when his wife Connie surprised him with a one made in Rochester by his brother-in law. Hickory Street Banjos. It was love at first sight. Growing up in Penfield NY, he was always singing in a choral group and was classically trained. While singing harmony is his “sweet spot” , he enjoys taking the lead on some of the more contemporary Americana tunes. Joining Tim and Laura, he says that he no longer plays, but makes music.

Tim plays just about anything with strings. He's been jamming ever since he joined his dad as a kid in his weekly jam sessions. Tim is an encyclopedia of tunes and lyrics. Tim likes to teach music to inspiring artists. Ken says that it's Tim's fingerpicking that really sets him apart and alows them to create a unique sound.
Laura Kolb on Bass
Laura brings it all together for the band. like her dad, she's been playing most of her whole like. She occasionally will play the guitar and sing a tune. Just ask her for one!
